“How to Help Your Child Succeed” (HHYCS)
This is a two-part series developed by National PTA to provide parents with practical ideas for helping their child
succeed in school and in life. This program is targeted for an audience made up of parents and primary caregivers of
children from preschool to high school.

HHYCS Part One (45 minutes) covers the first five points including: Talk with your child; Set high but realistic
expectations, Build your child’s self-esteem and confidence; Keep your child healthy and; Support learning at home.

HHYCS Part Two (45 minutes) covers the five additional areas including: Communicating with your child’s school;
Encouraging exploration and discovery; Help your child develop good relationships; Keep your child safe;
Participate in community service.

HYCS Parts One and Two (60 minutes) allows for enough time to present a brief overview of all ten areas listed above
in Part One and Part Two and the opportunity for you to select two of the areas (listed in Part One and Part Two)
for more intense coverage.

Reflections (National PTA sponsored student art program)
Reflections is a National PTA program promoting the Arts. More than 700,000 students nationwide participate in
this immensely popular program every year. This presentation provides all the materials and information you need to
run a successful program: rules, judging, awards, themes and even tips for motivating students and involving
teachers. The presentation can be given to PTAs that are considering starting a Reflections program or to those that
want to rejuvenate their current program.
