Reflections
The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in four areas: literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography and film/video production . Depending on local PTA guidelines, students may submit more than one entry.
Entries are judged in one of four grade levels; primary (preschool - grade 2), intermediate (grades 3-5), middle/junior (grades 6-8), and senior (grades 9-12).
Entries are first judged at the local unit level. Selected works are chosen in each area at each grade level and submitted for judging at the council (if applicable) and then the state level. Iowa PTA holds a Reflections recognition ceremony every spring. Entries selected at the state level are submitted to the National PTA where awards are presented at the National PTA Convention.
