Founder's Day
National PTA's Founder's Day is February 17. It was established by the National PTA in 1910 and serves as a day to remember the role PTA has played in supporting parent involvement in the lives of children and in advocating on the behalf of all children and families. It is a time to reflect upon and take pride in the many accomplishments of PTA and a time to renew our commitment to be a powerful voice for all children.
A Founder's Day celebration is a great time to acknowledge the founders of a local PTA unit and to recount all the milestones of a unit. A Founder's Day celebration is also a good time to promote the importance of PTA in communities.
