Awards

The National PTA has developed award programs to acknowledge outstanding achievement on the behalf of children and youth. These are the highest awards given by the National PTA. There are two types of awards available: individual and local unit.

National PTA Life Achievement Award
The National PTA Life Achievement Award is the highest honor granted to an individual and is given to individuals who have given outstanding service to children. Individuals are nominated for this award by local units and the award is presented to the recipients at a time and place chosen by the local unit.

The National PTA Life Achievement Award can be ordered online at: http://www.pta.org/life_achievement_awards.asp

PTA Take Your Family to School Week Awards
PTA Take Your Family to School Week is a special opportunity for schools to open their doors to all families and give parents a unique perspective on students’ school days, give educators openings to build positive partnerships with families, and give kids fun ways to share their school experiences.  Tell us your plans to celebrate PTA Take Your Family to School Week and your PTA could win $1,897 to support its work!  For more information, go to:  http://www.pta.org/take_your_family_to_school_awards.asp

PTA Healthy Lifestyles Awards

·         Promotes healthy lifestyles in the home, school, and community

·         Promotes family involvement in the school

·         Emphasizes the connection between healthy lifestyles and student achievement

·         Engages a diverse group of family and community members

then, you could qualify for an award to cover the expenses for your project.   For information, go to: http://www.pta.org/pta_healthy_lifestyles_award.asp

Phoebe Apperson Hearst - National PTA Excellence in Education Partnership Award
The local unit award is called the Phoebe Apperson Hearst - National PTA Excellence in Education Partnership Award. This award recognizes a PTA unit's collaborative efforts with parents, families, educators, and community members to promote parent/family involvement in ongoing programs that encourage student success. One national winner and four honorable mention awards are presented each year at the National PTA Convention. To better celebrate PTAs for implementing the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships, the Parent Involvement Schools of Excellence Certification has merged with the Phoebe Apperson Hearst-National PTA Excellence in Education Partnership Award to create three new levels of recognition.

Three Awards

Outstanding Family-School Partnership Award – For exemplary implementation of the National Standards, one local PTA will receive a monetary award of $2,000.

Family-School Partnership Award of Excellence – For representing the best in one of the six National Standards, six local PTAs will each receive monetary awards of $500.

Family-School Partnership Award of Merit – For demonstrating commitment to building partnerships, all local PTAs that apply will receive a certificate of recognition.

To apply for one of the awards, submit one application – no fees!  All local PTAs and PTA councils in good standing are eligible to apply.
